Client Agreement

Grooming Service

This Agreement for grooming services is between Danaira Román Vázquez, DBA ANGEL PAWS Grooming & Accessories ("ANGEL PAWS"), and the pet owner (Client). By signing this Agreement, the Client agrees to the terms as follows:

Responsibility of damages

I understand that I am solely responsible for any harm or damage caused by my pet attending boarding, daycare, or grooming at ANGEL PAWS.

Vaccinations

The Client certifies that the pet is current on Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo-Virus vaccines. Proof of Vaccination shall be provided to ANGEL PAWS upon request.

Picture/Video Release

The Client gives ANGEL PAWS permission to take pictures and, or video and film of the pet. The Client understands that the pictures/videos may be used for advertising, social media outlets, and other promotions.

COVID-19

The Client and any accompanying person must arrive properly wearing a mask. Masks on the chin or leaving the nose uncovered are not accepted. ANGEL PAWS WILL NOT receive anyone without a proper face covering. The Client will not leave any items that belong to the pet (collar, leash, harness, toys, clothing, etc.) when bringing the pet at ANGEL PAWS facilities. ANGEL PAWS will pick up and deliver the pet outside the establishment. NO ONE is allowed to enter the establishment due to our COVID-19 protocols.

No-Shows and Late Arrivals

The Client will provide a $20 deposit when scheduling, online, or by phone. The deposit will reserve for the Client an appointment spot on the work calendar. In the event that the Client does not show up, the Client agrees to pay the FULL amount of the service. The Client will not be able to reschedule the appointment until ANGEL PAWS receives the full payment. If the Client is more than 15 minutes late to the appointment without CALLING, WRITING or MESSAGING to notify of late arrival, ANGEL PAWS will consider the appointment a NO SHOW, and a Full payment will be due. ANGEL PAWS will not be able to groom your pet that day if the Client is more than 15 minutes late. Cancelations and Reschedule will be accepted if the Client notifies ANGEL PAWS at least 24 hours before the appointment date and time, and the Client will not be charged the full cost of the session.

Pick Up

The Client agrees to pick up the pet within one hour after ANGEL PAWS has notified the Client that the pet is ready. After one hour of wait time, ANGEL PAWS will charge the Client a Daycare fee of $10 per 15 minutes per dog until picked up. ($40 per hour per dog) If the Client needs to pick up the pet after the one-hour mark, the Client agrees to notify ANGEL PAWS when dropping off the pet to make the pertinent arrangements.

Biological Needs

The Client agrees to pay an additional fee anywhere between $10 to $30 for any pet that does its biological needs (defecating and, or urinating) in ANGEL PAWS facilities. The Client agrees to the best of their abilities to take out the pet for biological needs before bringing the pet to the appointment.

Food/Anxiety/Allergies

The Client agrees to not feed the pet before taking to him/her grooming appointment. During the grooming process, the service provider will offer treats and snacks to help within the process and reward the pet's good behavior. The Client agrees to notify of the pet is allergic to any food or substance. If the pet has skin problems or dermatitis, they must be taken to the veterinary and be approved for grooming before the appointment.

The Client agrees to take out the pet for a walk of at least ten minutes prior to the appointment if the pet suffers from anxiety or hyperactivity.

Flea/Tick Removal

ANGEL PAWS does NOT PERFORM TICK REMOVAL. To kill ticks effectively would require the use of chemicals dangerous to humans. The Client acknowledges that If the pet has ticks, it should be taken to veterinary. ANGEL PAWS will not groom dogs that have ticks. The Client agrees to pay an extra charge of $5 to $30 If the pet has fleas. ANGEL PAWS will use specialty natural shampoo for flea treatment.

Matted coats

The Client understands and acknowledges that dogs with matted coats require extra attention. The Client agrees to pay an additional charge of $5 to $30 If the dog's coat is matted and requires more than 5 minutes of brushing/de-matting. The Client understands and acknowledges that severely matted dogs will be shaved and matted ears, severe or not, will be shaved. The Client understands and acknowledges that de-matting can cause hematomas, which is bleeding through the skin.

The Client understands and acknowledges that removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, and/or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin, allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, and/or revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.

The Client understands and acknowledges that the after-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. The Client understands and agrees that ANGEL PAWS is not responsible for problems, injuries, or any effect caused by the pet's coat matting or mat removal. The Client understands and acknowledges that the coat matting is the responsibility of the Client.

The Client releases ANGEL PAWS from any liability associated with any and all injuries or medical problems that may be uncovered or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should my pet need veterinarian care after or during the process of de-matting, I agree to pay any and all veterinarian fees and hold ANGEL PAWS harmless.

Undercoat Removal/De-shedding

The Client understands and acknowledges that in the event that ANY dog is found to have an excessive or loose undercoat, we must remove it for the dog's health. The excessive undercoat can cause skin irritation and does not allow the skin to shed dead skin cells and breathe. The excessive undercoat will also affect the look of the final groom. The Client agrees to pay an extra fee, anywhere between $5 and $30 dollars, if the dog has an excess undercoat and requires undercoat removal or de-shedding.

Aggressive Dogs/Behavioral Problems

The Client understands and acknowledges that aggressive dogs must be up to date on Rabies and must have proof of Rabies before the beginning of the grooming process and must be muzzled the entire time. The Client must notify ANGEL PAWS before the grooming session starts if any other groomer has had any aggression issues before.

The Client agrees to notify ANGEL PAWS if the pet doesn't like children. In the eventuality that ANGEL PAWS is unable to complete the grooming process that has already started, due to the pet's aggressiveness or behavior, the Client will be responsible for the FULL cost of the grooming session. If ANGEL PAWS has not yet started grooming the pet and has determined that they cannot groom the dog, the owner will not owe anything, but the deposit will not be returned.

The Client understands and acknowledges that ANGEL PAWS will not groom any dog under any circumstances that had a sedative, anxiety medication, or similar medication. This includes but is not limited to Acepromazine, also known as "Ace," Benadryl, etc. It is a safety risk, and any services need to be done under veterinary supervision. These drugs can cause respiratory distress, low blood pressure, seizures, and low heart rate.

The Client agrees to pay and extra fee of anywhere between $5 to $30 if the pet exhibits behavior problems, aggressiveness, or any behavioral problem that makes grooming harder.

Ear Hair

The Client understands and acknowledges that ANGEL PAWS will pluck/pull/remove ear hair from any dog needing it. In the case that there is a possible ear infection, the Client will be notified and be recommended to see a vet. The Client understands and acknowledges that ear hair plucking can cause microscopic tears in the ear and cause infection.

The Client releases ANGEL PAWS from any liability associated with any and all injuries or medical problems that may be uncovered or occur during the ear hair plucking process. Should the pet need veterinarian care after or during the process of ear hair plucking, the Client agrees to pay any and all veterinarian fees and hold ANGEL PAWS harmless.

Senior Pets

The Client understands and acknowledges that ANGEL PAWS will groom all senior dogs for comfort over style. Grooming can be stressful for any dog of any age, but it can especially be stressful for an older dog.
